Pub Quiz - Geography Questions.
As i'm sure you are all aware, I'm a bloody decent chap and upstanding figure in the community. As such I have been asked to put together some questions for a charity pub quiz.

Now of course I not only love giving my time to charitable work but rather than hog all the warm feeling that comes from such work myself, I thought i'd give you good people a chance of sharing in this amazing work by suggesting some questions.

Over the next couple of days I will ask for questions on 5 categories. The second one being Geography.

So furnish me if you will with your favourite pieces of Geography trivia and when their is a cure for Cancer you can stand up and say 'Hey, I helped find that cure'.

Please make sure you post question AND Answer.

You're welcome

Did't mean San Marino was bigger/smaller than Vatican. None are, technically, "countries" that's all. All semantics. And politics, really, not geography.

I know people who believe Cornwall should be a separate "nation" from the UK. But until an IS-style uprising with pasties thrown in anger, it won't be...

This was mentioned earlier

To be pedantic, Alaska does not traverse the international date line. (The line is adjusted to go round it) but there are parts of it on the east side of the 180th meridian, giving them East co-ordinates rather than West.

Re: Pub Quiz - Geography Questions.
If you exclude countries that end with the Word Islands (e.g. Solomon Islands)there are nine countries in the world that end with land or lands. Answers should be in English and should also not include "sub" countries such as Scotland or England . Countries must exist today.

Answer: Ireland, Holland (Netherlands), Finland, Iceland, Poland, Switzerland, Swaziland, Thailand, New Zealand.

Do not accept Deutschland, it is not in English.
